More charges laid in deadly Saskatchewan bike collision – Saskatoon

UPDATE: Gordon Morris Crain pleads guilty to impaired driving related to boy’s death

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – A man charged with impaired driving causing death after an 11-year-old died in a collision in Saskatchewan is facing four additional charges.

Jared Bear, who is from the Muskoday First Nation, died in a Prince Albert hospital after he was struck by a vehicle that veered off Highway 3 where he was biking with two friends

Gordon Crain, 51, who is also from the First Nation, was also charged at the time with dangerous driving causing death.

Four additional charges were laid Tuesday after his second appearance in Prince Albert provincial court.

Crain is facing charges of criminal negligence causing death, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

The additional charges were laid after Prince Albert RCMP consulted with the Crown prosecutor’s office.

Crain is currently in custody.

Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate.
