With our population in Nova Scotia aging, keeping our senses sharp becomes more important. One sense that is often overlooked is your hearing. At 6:45 we’ll be joined by Frank Skubski from hearing aid manufacturer Beltone to explain what we can do to maintain our hearing, and ways to try to get it back once it goes.

A project, that’s being called “a landmark and a world first” will aim to provide reliable wind-generated power to Queens County was announced Tuesday. A local wind power company will build a 3.6 megawatt farm, and a tech startup will store the energy for when the wind isn’t blowing. Energy Minister Andrew Younger will join us Wednesday at 7:15 to discuss the exciting ramifications this project could have.

The Art of Disability festival takes place at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth on Thursday, July 31.  Learn more about this opportunity at 7:45 to explore local art, while tearing down some of the social barriers faced by people who live with disabilities.

AT 8:15  We have a frank conversation with family physician Dr. Howard Conter about the importance of recognizing and treating post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD.

At 8:45 we’ll showcase one act you won’t want to miss during the 2014 Halifax International Busker Festival.  Originally from Australia, OKA draws upon their indigenous connection to place and country through music. Their signature sound is an irresistible blend of influences spanning house, big beat, reggae-dub, Roots, Jazz and world music. We’ll get an exclusive performance before they hit the streets of Halifax.
